Wedge-shaped bristles in the rectangular brush heads center slant both ways, and shorter, rounded bristles line the sides. Because the bristles are soft, protection is afforded teeth and gums from a too-hard scrubbing. A timer reminds a user to continue brushing for two minutes, the minimum time recommended by dentists. For family use or for the future, the toothbrush comes with two brush heads, both of which store under a hinged cover in the charging base.
