Baking a beautiful cake is an art and to properly practice your art, you need the right tools. This nylon baking spatula from Calphalon is a great multipurpose baking tool. Use the serrated side of the 8-inch nylon blade to gently cut through a sheet cake so you can add a raspberry or butter cream filling. Use the nonserrated side to spread the filling to the edges and smooth it down, replace the top layer, and then use the spatula to frost the complete cake. When removing cakes from round cake pans, slide the end of the spatula around the edges to help lift it out. When youre done, just toss it in the dishwasher to clean.
