Prevent overcooking of roast beef and leg of lamb with this professional preprogrammed thermometer and timer. A 5-inch metal probe inserted into the meat registers temperatures between 32 degrees F and 450 degrees F (0 degrees C to 232 degrees C), and connects by a 35-inch-long wire (the oven door closes over it) to the thermometer. Press the "Meat" button to choose between six preprogrammed settings for different types of meat and one customized setting. Then press the "Taste" button to choose from rare to well done. An LCD window on the thermometer displays the type of meat, taste setting, actual and desired cooking temperatures, timer hours/minutes/seconds, and alarm icon. The thermometer includes both countdown and count-up timers, and can also be used as an instant-read thermometer for barbecuing.
