Most garlic presses mince cloves of peeled garlic, but this clever gadget does more than that. An integral stainless-steel lever helps peel cloves of garlic in two ways: the metal edge neatly snips the end off a clove, and a clove placed under its widest part is lightly smashed. Both techniques render the garlic easy to peel. Then the garlic is placed in the metal cage, the large ergonomically designed handle squeezed, and the garlic is minced through the cage holes.
