Pulling the cord in the lid of this salad spinner rotates the basket in two directions, drying greens more quickly than spinners that only rotate in a single direction. The back-and-forth motion prevents droplets from being trapped in the folds of greens. (Conveniently, it also rewinds the pull-cord.) The basket measures 9-3/4 inches in diameter and 4-1/4 inches deep, ample capacity for family-size salads. It fits into an elegant, polished, stainless-steel bowl with two brushed accent bands that can be used to handsomely serve salads--or potato chips. A blue, snap-on plastic lid converts the bowl into an airtight storage container.
