If youve ever tipped a steaming pot of pasta into a strainer and missed, then youll appreciate this clever pasta insert. It makes cooking pasta as simple and uncomplicated as boiling water. Plop the insert into an 8-, 10-, or 12-quart pot. Add water (about three times the amount as the volume of the pasta to be cooked), and when it comes to a boil, add the pasta gradually so the water keeps boiling. Then stir in a bit of salt, and cover with the snug, see-through lid. A few minutes later, presto: al dente pasta, every time.
