Steak knives are usually the least interesting item in the utensil world. Their only requirement is to be sharp. These Sabatier steak knives are sharp, unique, and beautiful--plus, they come with a story. Named after the French town of Laguiole (pronounced "lie-yole"), the original knife was crafted by a village innkeepers son in 1829 and could be folded for travel (sorry, these dont fold). The knives have an elongated pistol grip handle and, where the blade meets the handle, a small bee rests. The bee was the imperial emblem of Napoleon and was awarded for bravery.
