Everyone from school children to meteorologists will appreciate this exceptionally high-quality wireless remote weather station. The three basic components of the station are a stylish main display unit, which can sit on a desk or mount on a wall; a remote rain gauge, powered by its own small solar transmitter; and a wind gauge (anemometer), also powered by its own solar transmitter. The display unit comes with two sensors: a thermo-hygrometer for outdoor installation, and a baro-thermo-hygrometer for indoor installation. Simultaneous readouts of all the weather station functions are clearly arrayed on the main unit: barometric pressure, indoor and outdoor relative humidity, indoor and outdoor temperature, rainfall amount and rate of fall, time and weather alarms, wind speed, wind direction, and wind chill temperature. Graphics of clouds, sun, and rain portray the days forecast, and a digital compass displays the wind readings. All compatible components for the weather station can be placed up to 300 feet from the main display unit and transmit at 433 MHz. The main unit measures 7-3/4 by 3-1/4 by 1-1/2 inches, and features a rotating antenna and push-button automatic-opening control panel on the front. The weather station requires AAA and AA batteries (not included), and comes with a 12-volt DC adapter. The anemometer requires some assembly of the wind vane, and should be mounted securely (hardware included), as it can record winds up to 125 miles per hour. Cables attached to the rain gauge and anemometer plug into their respective solar transmitters. The weather station is programmable to display readings in Celsius or Fahrenheit, inches or millimeters, and in five different languages.
