It takes a huge amount of oil to deep-fry and its a shame to throw it all away afterward. However, you can filter out any food particles and reuse oil as long as its stored properly to avoid spoiling and reheated to a minimum of 350 degrees F for sterilization. Eastman Outdoors cooking-oil filter pump takes the mess out of the filtering process as there is no risk of spillage. Shaped like a long wand, the pump is 27-1/2 inches long so it can reach oil at the bottom of the tallest stockpots. Running off of three D batteries, the pump siphons leftover oil from your cooking pot into a storage container via a 26-inch-long plastic tube. A filter within the pump ensures that any bits of food or seasoning that could potentially taint the oil are left behind.
