Ideal for serving onion soup, these two 16-ounce bowls are a traditional French shape, with lions head handles and smooth exteriors that make them welcome in contemporary kitchens. They can go directly from freezer to oven, into the microwave, under the broiler, and through the dishwasher without harming their glossy, lead-free glaze, which does not absorb odors or moisture and is so hard it will not crack, discolor, or scratch--even if food is cut on it. They have pedestal bottoms, bulge voluptuously, and measure 4-1/4 inches in diameter at the top and 3-1/2 inches high.
